Investor Tracking

The People section in Capvia is your investor relationship database. It gives you a single place to manage all your investor contacts, track interactions, and maintain context across your entire fundraise.

Contact profiles

Each investor contact includes:

  • Name — Full name with avatar
  • Company — Their firm or organization
  • Email — Primary and additional email addresses
  • Phone — Contact numbers with click-to-call
  • Tags — Custom labels for filtering and organization
  • Last interaction — When you last engaged with this contact

Managing contacts

Adding contacts

You can add contacts from several places:

  • People section — Click to add a new contact with full details
  • Opportunity creation — Add contacts inline when creating pipeline opportunities
  • Search and link — Search your existing database when associating contacts with rounds

Tags

Tags help you organize and filter your contacts. Use them to track:

  • Investor type (e.g., "Angel", "VC Partner", "LP")
  • Interest level (e.g., "Hot Lead", "Warm Intro")
  • Source (e.g., "TechStars Network", "Conference")
  • Status (e.g., "Follow-up Needed", "Passed")

Bulk actions

Select multiple contacts to perform actions at scale:

  • Add tags or remove tags across selected contacts
  • Merge duplicate contacts
  • Add to round — Associate contacts with a fundraising round

Activity feed

Every contact has a timeline-style activity feed showing all interactions:

  • Emails — Communication history
  • Opportunity updates — Stage changes across any round they're part of
  • Meetings — Scheduled calls and meetings
  • Notes — Internal observations and context
  • Document activity — When they viewed shared decks

The feed is organized chronologically with visual indicators for each activity type and relative timestamps.

Email tracking

The Emails tab on each contact shows your email communication history. This gives you a complete picture of the conversation thread without switching to your email client.

Notes

Add rich notes to any contact to capture:

  • Key takeaways after meetings
  • Specific concerns or objections raised
  • Metrics or milestones they want to see
  • Personal context that builds rapport
  • Follow-up action items

Searching and filtering

Find the right contacts quickly using:

  • Text search — Search across names, companies, and tags
  • Tag filters — Filter by any combination of tags
  • Sorting — Sort by name, company, or last interaction date

Cross-round visibility

Contacts in Capvia persist across rounds. If an investor who passed on your Seed round comes back for your Series A, all their previous activity history is preserved. You'll see their full interaction timeline spanning every round they've been involved in.
