Deck Sharing
Share your pitch deck with investors using secure, trackable links. Capvia's deck sharing gives you complete control over who sees your deck, along with detailed engagement analytics so you know exactly how investors interact with your materials.
Creating a share link
- Navigate to your deck in the Pitch Decks section
- Click Share to open the sharing configuration
- Configure your access controls and sharing options
- Copy the generated link and send it to investors
Access control options
Each share link can be configured with different levels of access:
| Level | Description | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Open | Anyone with the link can view immediately | Broad distribution, events |
| Email-gated | Viewer must enter their email before viewing | Identifying who's looking at your deck |
| Password-protected | Viewer must enter a password | Controlled access to sensitive materials |
Additional controls
- NDA requirement — Require viewers to accept an NDA before accessing the deck. You can customize the NDA text.
- Download permission — Allow or prevent PDF downloads
- Watermarking — Add watermarks to shared decks for additional protection
- Expiration — Set an auto-expire date so outdated decks don't keep circulating
Engagement analytics
Every share link tracks detailed viewer engagement in real time.
Viewer activity
- Who viewed — By email (if email-gated) or session identifier
- When they accessed — Timestamps for each viewing session
- Total time spent — How long they engaged with your deck
- Return visits — How many times they came back
- Device information — Browser, screen size, and timezone
Slide-level analytics
- Time on each slide — See which slides held attention
- Slides skipped — Identify content that isn't landing
- Slides revisited — Strong interest signals when investors return to specific slides
- Drop-off point — Where viewers stopped reading
Engagement signals
Capvia highlights key patterns that indicate investor interest:
- Deep engagement — Viewer spent significant time on financials or team slides, suggesting due diligence
- Quick scan — Total view time under a minute — may need a follow-up nudge
- Return viewer — Came back multiple times, indicating strong interest
- Download requested — Viewer wanted a copy for offline review or sharing internally
Session tracking
Capvia uses a heartbeat system to track viewing sessions accurately:
- Sessions begin when a viewer accesses the link
- Slide-by-slide navigation is tracked in real time
- Sessions detect when a viewer pauses or leaves
- Multiple viewing sessions from the same viewer are tracked separately
Managing shared links
From your deck's share dashboard you can:
- View all active share links and their engagement stats
- See expired or revoked links
- Deactivate a link early if needed
- Monitor recent activity across all shares
Tips
- Use email-gated links for investors you're actively courting — it helps you prioritize follow-ups based on who's actually looking at your deck
- Check analytics before meetings — Know which slides the investor spent time on so you can focus your conversation on their interests
- Set expiration dates — Outdated decks floating around can hurt your raise
- Track return visitors — Multiple views in a short period is one of the strongest signals of genuine interest
