Quickstart Guide
Get up and running with Capvia in under 5 minutes. This guide walks you through account setup, your first deck review, and an introduction to pitch practice.
Step 1: Create your account
Sign up at capvia.ai using your Google account or email address.
After signing up, you'll be guided through a short onboarding flow:
- Enter your name and company details (name, website, size, your role)
- Tell us about your fundraising stage (Pre-seed, Seed, Series A, etc.)
- Let us know your pitch deck status — whether you have one, it's in progress, or you haven't started yet
- Share your biggest fundraising challenge so we can tailor recommendations
Tip: Completing onboarding helps Capvia personalize your AI feedback and investor matching. You can always update these details later in Settings.
Step 2: Upload your pitch deck
Navigate to Pitch Decks in the sidebar and click Add Deck. Upload your pitch deck as a PDF file.
Once uploaded, Capvia will:
- Generate a visual thumbnail of your deck
- Begin an AI evaluation that scores your deck across multiple dimensions
- Make the deck available for pitch practice sessions and sharing
The evaluation runs in the background — you'll see the status change from Pending to Complete when your scores are ready.
Step 3: Review your deck feedback
Click into your deck to see the AI evaluation results. Your deck is scored on areas like:
- Narrative & Story — Is the flow compelling? Is the problem clearly framed?
- Market Opportunity — Is the TAM/SAM/SOM well-defined and credible?
- Business Model — Is the path to revenue clear?
- Team & Traction — Are key proof points and milestones highlighted?
- Design & Clarity — Is the presentation professional and readable?
Each area receives a score along with specific strengths, gaps, and recommendations for improvement.
Step 4: Practice your pitch
Go to Pitch Sessions and click Start New Pitch. Select the deck you want to pitch and choose an investor persona.
Each persona represents a different investor archetype — from the metrics-focused Analytical VC to the big-picture Vision VC. The AI investor will:
- Listen to your pitch in a realistic video-call format
- Ask probing follow-up questions based on what you say
- Challenge weak points and drill into specifics
- Provide a detailed performance analysis after the session
Note: Pitch practice requires a desktop browser with camera and microphone access.
Step 5: Set up your fundraising pipeline
Navigate to Fundraising to create your first investment round:
- Click Add Round and configure your raise (round name, target amount, stage)
- Add investor opportunities — either from your existing contacts or create new ones
- Track each opportunity through pipeline stages as conversations progress
